Subway Share

Central Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts; October 10, 2026

Black-and-white candid portrait of an elderly woman seated on a subway car, looking down at a smartphone held in hands of a passenger sitting next to her. She has short, curly light hair, wire-rimmed glasses, a beaded necklace, a gingham top and a dark cardigan. Her expression is a faint, amused smile. A metal pole runs vertically through the right of the frame beside a hanging tote bag, and a bag rests in her lap. The face of the person holding the phone is hidden by a backpack of another passenger.
