Off Season Lawn Care

Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts; October 9, 2026

Black-and-white view from beneath a dark steel-framed grandstand roof, looking down on an empty ballpark. Sunlight rakes across thousands of vacant seats and the infield. A lone groundskeeper waters the grass near home plate. Silhouetted tourists fill the bottom foreground, and a man in a plaid shirt and sunglasses stands in the aisle beyond them.
A member of the grounds crew at Fenway Park waters the grass near home plate as a tour group looks on from the stands — J. Matthew Buchanan
