Iced Mime

Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts; October 10, 2026

Black-and-white night photo of two bronze sculptures on a brick pedestrian path: a figure crouched in the foreground, seen from behind, faces a standing figure with concealed arms and accesorized with a sleeveless shirt hand-lettered “FUCK ICE.”
A shirt added to a statue, and a certain perspective, brings new meaning to two figures in James Tyler's Ten Figures installation. — J. Matthew Buchanan
